SST Technologies has developed the Anywhere Fridge — a portable, solar-powered refrigerator and freezer.

This fridge can be used to aid victims of natural disasters, provide storage for families during power outages, and even be used for recreational activities such as camping.

Other coolers and refrigerators aren’t portable, require ice that melts, or use continuous electricity to function.

The Anywhere Fridge provides unlimited, portable refrigeration, keeping items like food and medication cool in any location.

According to CBS News, a record $306 billion was spent in 2017 on natural disaster relief in the U.S., much of it going toward food and medical supplies.

But relief organizations and government entities often have trouble keeping food and critical vaccines at the required temperature.

SST Technologies believes its portable refrigerator and freezer can significantly reduce these costs, and ease the burden of providing relief to people in need.

The fridge runs off of detachable solar panels that simultaneously charge the built-in lithium-ion battery. This enables the fridge to run overnight on a full charge.

It has an 85-quart storage capacity, a built-in UV light to keep the inside continuously sanitized, and a Fast Freeze Function that lowers the device’s temperature to -4 degrees Fahrenheit in just minutes.

In 2011, SST Technologies designed and produced a working prototype of its fridge.

Two years later, the company raised $170,000 and received multiple pre-orders through a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform.

SST Technologies has secured a manufacturer in China to begin mass production. In addition, the company has been contacted by Doctors World Wide and Doctors Without Borders, both of which are interested in the Anywhere Fridge.
