The world’s two biggest retailers are transforming how packages get delivered.

At the center of this transformation? Delivery drones.

Right now, Amazon is developing “Prime Air,” a drone delivery service. Soon, more than 4 billion packages sent by the e-commerce giant may be delivered using a drone.

Meanwhile, Walmart just completed pilot tests with its own drone delivery program. As of last month, the $395 billion retailer began delivering diapers and food using unmanned aerial vehicles.

The thing is, while drone delivery is projected to become an $18 billion market by 2028, these billions and billions of packages will need some place to be safely stored.

That’s where AirBox Technologies enters the picture.

This company has designed secure delivery mailboxes for businesses and individuals. These boxes enable the completion of fast, efficient package delivery — whether sent by drone, bike, or delivery vehicle.

AirBox is one of the first companies to create a residential smart mailbox that is ready for manufacturing. The company’s products are patented and have been successfully tested in pilot programs in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.

Now AirBox is ready to commercialize its mailboxes and help usher in the future of parcel delivery.

Primarily, AirBox’s products offer an upgrade from traditional mailboxes, many of which aren’t private or secure. Most also aren’t designed to fit packages, resulting in products being exposed to the elements or “porch pirates.”

Many people around the world don’t have a physical address, or live in areas without labeled roads, signs, or established postal routes. Furthermore, Covid-19 has accelerated demand for contactless delivery and package protection.

Simply put, the market needs a solution for receiving packages in a secure way. And AirBox offers this solution.

This company is targeting a few major markets. This includes the market for “last-mile” delivery (expected to reach $85 billion by 2030) and drone package delivery (projected to generate $39 billion in revenue by the end of the decade).

As mentioned, AirBox’s mailboxes can be used by individuals or businesses. All AirBox products offer temperature control, passwords, and an e-signature option.

The AirBox Home comes in three different models: the Simple (retails for $499); the Solar ($599); and the Cell Max ($799). These are suitable for smaller parcel deliveries.

The AirBox Deep, meanwhile, retails for $699, and offers a larger capacity. This design was based on customer feedback for items like bigger packages, medical supplies, and groceries.

AirBox generates revenue through sales of its mailboxes, offered direct-to-consumers online or through local distributors.
