4Gen Technology Group is creating a solution to one of the military’s biggest problems: missile training.

The company has created a cost-effective anti-tank missile designed for training exercises.

With its product, 4Gen is targeting both U.S. and foreign militaries, which presents a $430 million market opportunity.

Anti-tank missiles are designed primarily to hit and destroy heavily armored military vehicles.

One of the most widely used anti-tank missiles is what’s known as a tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided missile, or “TOW” for short.

The problem is that anti-tank missiles, including TOWs, are expensive. Some of them — such as the FGM-148 Javelin — can cost $246,000 per unit.

Due to their high costs, most militaries don’t train using anti-tank weapons systems. In the U.S., many anti-tank missile crewmen’s only experience firing an actual missile is in live combat.

4Gen’s patented missile system, which the company calls TOWMATE, can be produced at a drastically reduced cost. It enables soldiers to train and practice using the TOW missile system more frequently.

TOWMATE is an internally-recoiled rifle that fires NATO standard .50 caliber ammunition. It enables TOW gunners to acquire and engage targets on a live-firing range in a manner nearly identical to firing an actual missile.

Each device is equipped with an anti-tank weapons effect simulator that replicates the blast and temporary loss of vision/hearing that occurs when firing a live missile.

4Gen’s initial prototype is in its final stages of development. The company plans to use the capital it raises to purchase materials needed to complete its Phase 1 model of the TOWMATE.

Once completed, 4Gen will open direct sales to both domestic and foreign countries. In addition, the company will earn revenue through product support and training assistance.

4Gen has already received interest from several military branches, including the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, Egyptian Military, and Saudi Arabian Military.

All together, the potential market includes 15,000 TOW missile platforms and 50 militaries around the world.

4Gen’s team has more than 35 years of military and operational experience.

CEO Jacob Clifton is a former U.S. Marine and previously worked on the technical staff at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory. While there, he developed prototype projects for the U.S. government. In addition, Clifton spent time as an analyst for a venture capital firm.

COO William Dix is a former Naval officer and previously coordinated training exercises with several international militaries, including branches from United Arab Emirates, Philippines, and Kuwait.
